Starburst Hide Painting

The Starburst Hide Painting on deer skin by Patricia Wolf is a work of art with timeless appeal. Hides were painted by Indians to depict important elements of their lives. This hide is painted with a design of infinite concentric circles representing the universe and one Great Spirit overseeing the earth, sky, fire and water. Sheep wool and beaded tassels are wrapped on a cedar stick, with the hide laced to the stick. Strands of horsehair, Cowry shells, and beaded medallions accent the starburst. Size of hides vary and no two are alike. Stick measures approximately 56″and hides are approximately 40″x 40″. Shown in gold deer skin.
