Shoshone Village Hide Painting

$795.00

The Shoshone Village Painting on deer skin by Patricia Wolf is a work with timeless appeal. Hides were painted by Indians to depict important events in their lives. This hide chronicles Indian tribes following the migration of buffalo herds from the summer mountain meadows to winter lowlands. Sheep wool and beaded tassels are wrapped on a cedar stick, with the hide laced onto the stick. Feathers, beads and tassels accent tee pee villages, ponies and buffalo. Shape of hides vary. Stick measures approximately 56″and hide approximately 40″x 40″. Shown in gold deer skin.
